In 2014 Paul Hayden, soon thereafter affectionately nicknamed The Guv'nor, created the London Motorcycle Riders Club. His vision was that of a motorcycling club where every single member could feel part of a family, be supported and encouraged whatever their background, bike, or even no bike - pillions welcome too. As long as you loved bikes and were nice, you'd have a place.
The club never stopped evolving. It started with short day rides around the counties bordering London and soon enough there were week long trips to Ireland, the Alps, the Canadian Rockies and Vietnam. We've been off-roading in Wiltshire, had summer days BBQs, went wild camping, ran Tough Mudders, went Greenlaning and did Minimoto, helped organise Bike Safe days and Santa Toy runs, and we offer regular Social Events where we just meet for a beer and a chat. This is all thanks to Paul, who believed bikers want more than to shut their visors and be anonymous.
For 10 years, the Guv'nor led LMRC with a helping hand from his Ride Leaders team and the praise of hundreds of members who all remember him for the wonderful man and leader he was. Paul was a true Yorkshire man, with a weak spot for a beer, a good brew and a sticky bun. His laughter was easy and his generosity and grace unmatched.
Guv'nor, we miss you every day, and will raise a glass to you at every opportunity!
Through keeping LMRC alive, we honour your memory.
